We have an exciting opportunity to join our Congenital Cardiac Service as Fetal and Paediatric Cardiac Physiology Service Manager at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and St Michael's Hospital. As the professional lead for a highly skilled team, you will provide strategic, clinical and operational leadership across fetal and paediatric cardiac physiology services, supporting patients from diagnosis before birth through childhood and adolescence. You will drive innovation, service improvement and workforce development, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care across the South West and South Wales.
Leading a specialist team delivering diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional cardiac physiology services, you will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to enhance quality, performance and sustainability. As a senior Healthcare Scientist and expert practitioner, you will champion evidence-based practice, develop advanced clinical expertise and contribute to regional and national service developments.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide strategic, clinical and operational leadership for the Fetal Cardiac and Paediatric Congenital Cardiac Physiology Service, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality and patient-centred care. They will be responsible for developing and delivering the service vision, managing capacity and resources, leading service transformation and maintaining the highest standards of clinical governance, patient safety and professional practice.
Working collaboratively with senior clinical, scientific and operational colleagues, the post holder will lead workforce planning, talent development, education and succession planning to build a highly skilled and sustainable service. They will champion innovation, research and the adoption of new technologies, while using performance, quality and patient experience data to drive continuous improvement. The role also includes contributing to financial planning, supporting regional congenital cardiac networks and representing the service at local, regional and national forums to influence the future development of paediatric and congenital cardiac physiology services.
