Female Night Care and Support Worker

Job summary

The Female Night Care & Support Worker provides compassionate, person-centred care and support to tenants living within Jewish Care's Retirement Living Service, helping them remain independent while ensuring their safety, comfort, dignity, and wellbeing throughout the night. Working waking night shifts from 9:00pm to 7:00am on a two-week rolling rota, the postholder will provide personal care, administer medication where trained, carry out regular welfare checks, respond to emergency call systems, maintain accurate care records, and offer reassurance and emotional support. Working collaboratively with colleagues and healthcare professionals, the role helps create a safe, calm, and welcoming environment where tenants can continue living independently with confidence. Due to the nature of providing intimate personal care, there is a genuine occupational requirement that the postholder is female.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a caring and dedicated Female Night Care & Support Worker to join our Retirement Living team. You'll provide overnight support to tenants living in their own apartments, helping them remain safe, independent, and connected within a supportive community. Your role will include personal care, medication support, responding to emergency calls, carrying out wellbeing checks, and offering reassurance throughout the night. Job responsibilities

We are seeking a Night Care and Support Worker for our Pears Court Retirement Living Service.

At Jewish Care, we support people to live independently, with dignity and connection at the heart of everything we do. Our Retirement Living services offer a vibrant, supportive community where tenants can enjoy their independence, knowing care and support are there when needed.

This role is based on an average of 35 hours per week, worked across a two-week rolling rota. Night shifts run from 9:00pm to 7:00am.

The shift pattern is as follows:

Week 1: Saturday, Sunday, Thursday, Friday Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

There is a genuine occupational requirement, in accordance with the Sex Discrimination Act 1974, for the postholder to be female.

About the role

This isnt a typical care role.

As a Care & Support Worker, youll support tenants living in their own flatshelping them stay independent, connected, and in control of their lives. From practical support to companionship, youll build meaningful relationships and play a key role in creating a strong community.
