Job summary

As Facilities Team Leader, you will lead a diverse team delivering essential services across 2 hospital sites. From portering, cleaning, catering and waste management, your leadership will ensure a smooth and safe environment for colleagues, patients and visitors.

You will be the first line of management, coordinating rotas, resources and service standards whilst fostering a culture of professionalism and care.

This is a hands on role where no two days are the same. You will be empowered to make decisions, respond to incidents and drive service improvements. Your ability to plan, delegate and motivate will be key to maintaining high standards and supporting both colleagues and patients. You will play a vital role in health and safety and ensure compliance and readiness at all times.

Main duties of the job

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will:

Oversee and allocate daily workloads for the Facilities Team across two sites. Ensure compliance with NHS National Cleaning Standards, Better Hospital Food programme and Trust Policies. Manage rotas and sickness cover using Eroster. Monitor cleanliness audits, patient surveys and stock control. Liaise with hospital colleagues, contractors and external agencies to maintain high standards. Support recruitment, training and performance management of the Facilities Team.
