The role:
The Facilities Directorate deliver a variety of services (e.g. patient and retail catering, domestic cleaning, pottering, transport)which support and contribute to the provision of quality patient care.
This Catering Post supports with the delivery of catering services to patients, and for functions within the hospital, regeneration of patients meals either centrally or at ward level, plating patient meals at the point of service as advised by nursing staff and cleaning and wash-up of all equipment, machinery, and crockery associated with catering services. You will assist food production staff with the basic preparation of meals, undertake picking & packing of patient meal component and support the overall delivery of patient meals to ward level. You should comply with Food Hygiene Regulations with regard to food service.
No qualifications or experience are required for this post as all training will be given on the job but you should be able to work under pressure and have good communication skills. The aim of this role is to provide a quality catering service to the hospital premises, ensuring that patients, staff and visitors are provided with food and beverage service in adherence with Food Safety Regulations. Please note there are no full-time posts available.
