Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Exercise Physiologist to join the Physiotherapy department at Royal Papworth Hospital. The post holder will work as an integral part of the physiotherapy team, alongside other allied health professionals, to provide evidence based exercise interventions for patients with cardiorespiratory conditions. We are seeking an individual who is confident, flexible and able to work independently within multiple clinical teams.
Key aspects of the post include service delivery and evaluation of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation programme, plus inpatient exercise prescription and training support for patients admitted for medical and surgical treatment.

This post is full time, and will include weekend shifts.
Main duties of the job
To provide exercise prescription for cardiovascular endurance, exercise and resistance training within a pulmonary rehabilitation and cardiorespiratory inpatient setting.
To contribute to service development, including accreditation of the pulmonary rehabilitation service, and other identified projects within the physiotherapy department e.g. prehabilitation.
Engage in effective and efficient assessment and treatments to provide high quality care to cardiorespiratory patients.
To effectively manage time independently to ensure a cost effective service is provided to patients, prioritising according to clinical need.
Liaise closely with the senior physiotherapists and operational staff to ensure appropriate escalation of issues.
To ensure equipment is maintained and procurement processes are initiated, in conjunction with the Physiotherapy Operational Lead.
