This opportunity is to join the Estates Management team delivering a planned, coordinated, and pro-active maintenance service and to support the overall objectives of the Trust.
You will be an integral part of the team and will provide a wide range of duties to manage, support and assist the Estates Department. You will be qualified to the appropriate level with a building services electrical trade background. You will be responsible for organising and managing planned and reactive maintenance alongside out-sourced service contract providers within a complex estate.
Main duties of the job
- You will manage, develop, co-ordinate and maintain documentation, registers and log books for electrical engineering services including Health & Safety, Risk Assessments and method statements.
- You will monitor compliance in specialist areas of work e.g. low voltage systems, fire alarm, nurse call, and BMS systems.
- You will assist the Head of Estates in achieving departmental budget objectives. You will have delegated budget responsibility for a particular budget (e.g. backlog revenue budget) and will make decisions regarding this including authorising invoices etc., and reporting on progress etc.
- You will have responsibility for proposing, implementing and reviewing departmental policies/practices.
- You will provide out of hours emergency call out services as and when required in accordance with the on call rota.

- Expert knowledge of Electrical services.

- Extensive installation management experience.
- Good financial acumen.
- Good computer literacy and IT skills.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Ability to motivate and lead staff.
- Adaptability and willingness to participate in the Estates Officer on call rota
Desirable
- Thorough understanding of Health Technical Memorandum and the statutory and mandatory requirements therein
- Recognised management qualification.
- Experience of working in a hospital environment.
- Experience of staff development/human resource management.
Qualifications
Essential
- HNC/HND/Degree in Building Services or an Electrical Engineering related discipline or an equivalent level of experience within Electrical Building Services Engineering.
- Recognised apprenticeship in an electrical related discipline.
- 18th Edition wiring regulations BS7671
Desirable
- C&G 2391 Inspection and Test
- Authorised Person qualifications, Low Voltage, Lifts
- Emergency First Aid
