Job Title: Estates Compliance Support Manager

Contract Type: Permanent

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity to join the Estates, Facilities and Capital Development (EFCD) Team at UHS.

This role is primarily based on site at UHS and is integral to ensuring that estates compliance is effectively monitored, managed and reported, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of services across the Trust.

As part of our team, you will work independently within scope of practice as part of the EFCD Compliance Team, providing specialist advice and guidance on estates statutory and mandatory compliance. You’ll play a key role in monitoring compliance frameworks such as SCART and the NHS Premises Assurance Model (PAM), coordinating risk governance processes, and supporting the delivery of safe, compliant estates services. A detailed description of the role can be found within the job description.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • You’ll work closely with colleagues across estates and wider Trust teams, including senior managers and safety groups, to ensure compliance is understood, tracked and continuously improved.
  • You’ll need to have strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively. You’ll be confident working with complex information, including legislation, policies and technical guidance, and able to communicate this clearly to a range of audiences.
  • You’ll bring experience of estates or building services compliance, ideally within a healthcare environment, along with a good understanding of relevant UK legislation, regulations and guidance such as Health Technical Memorandums. A relevant degree (or equivalent experience) is essential, and a qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH would be beneficial.
  • You’ll be comfortable working autonomously, while also contributing as part of a collaborative team, and you’ll be confident in influencing others and supporting continuous improvement in compliance and risk management practices.
