We are looking for an individual to join the Pharmacy based Aseptic Services team. We have a highly regarded Aseptic Production Unit (APU) at the Trust and moved into our brand new site in 2023. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of support activities to the aseptic production service.

Main duties of the job
The postholder will support the effective operation of the aseptic manufacturing service by assisting with the maintenance and management of environmental monitoring date and quality-related records in line with departmental policies and procedures.
The role requires accuracy, attention to detail and effective use of relevant information systems, alongside strong organisational and communication skills and the ability to manage workload with minimal supervision.
The postholder will support the maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) within the aseptic unit, ensuring records and documentation are maintained in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) requirements.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The successful applicant will carry out the following duties.
- Carry out routine physical and microbiological environmental monitoring of pharmaceutical production areas following Standard Operating Procedures and schedules.
- Use environmental monitoring and other QA equipment correctly by following the procedures for use, cleaning and monitoring of such equipment.
- Ensure that all required documentation is filled in correctly, processed and filed in the correct manner according to GMP principals.
- Maintain and update accurate record logs of environmental monitoring undertaken and subsequent results.
- Assist in the arrangements for QA equipment calibrations.
- Accept delivery of materials for the Pharmacy QA micro-team.
- Book in raw materials and containers upon receipt from external suppliers according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist in the stock control of media used in the microbiological monitoring service.
- Actively assist senior staff in the maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Contribute to the development of GMP documentation such as standard operating procedures and worksheets.
- Contact Manufacturers and Suppliers to obtain appropriate Certificate of Analysis or Certificates of Conformity for received raw materials and containers.
- Ensure that working procedures at all times conform with regulatory standards.
- Undertake other duties as required in order to maintain the safe, efficient and effective provision of pharmaceutical services.
- Contact appropriate supervisor for assistance as required when undertaking the activities of this job description.
- Attend courses and undertake training to develop expertise in appropriate skills, where training needs are identified.
