Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Supervisor

Salary: £55,000 – £60,000

Location: UK based travel required corporate locations include Manchester, Leeds, Staines

Role Overview

Are you an experienced Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) professional looking for an opportunity to make a real impact across a national healthcare estate?

We're looking for an Engineering Supervisor (M&E) to provide technical engineering expertise across our Dental property portfolio. Acting as the client-side engineering specialist, you'll support the delivery of facilities management and capital investment projects, ensuring our clinics remain safe, compliant, efficient and fit for purpose.

Working closely with Property Operations teams, contractors and key stakeholders, you'll review engineering specifications, validate project scopes and costs, oversee M&E works, and help shape the future maintenance and investment strategy of our growing estate. This is a field based role with regular travel to sites across the UK.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Providing technical M&E support across a national portfolio of dental clinics.
  • Reviewing capital expenditure tenders and contractor quotations to ensure value for money and accurate project scope.
  • Managing and maintaining M&E asset data and records across the estate.
  • Supporting the delivery of engineering projects, including heating and hot water systems, fire alarms, lifts, electrical infrastructure, BEMS, emergency lighting, PV systems and distribution networks.
  • Project managing M&E capital works, ensuring quality, health & safety compliance, contractor performance and programme delivery.
  • Undertaking condition surveys and contributing to long-term capital investment and lifecycle planning.
  • Working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure all statutory inspections and compliance activities are completed on time.
  • Auditing completed works to verify quality and contractual compliance.
  • Developing M&E specifications and technical standards for dental environments.
  • Building strong relationships with regional operational leaders, contractors and property teams to provide trusted engineering advice.

What You Will Bring

  • Experience in a multi-site M&E engineering, facilities, estates or property environment.
  • NVQ Level 3 in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge across building services and M&E systems.
  • Experience managing contractors, projects, budgets and capital investment programmes.
  • Good understanding of compliance requirements including Health & Safety, Building Regulations, CDM, Legionella and associated building standards.
  • IOSH Managing Safely and Legionella Awareness (L8) knowledge or equivalent experience.
  • Confidence reviewing technical specifications, quotations and engineering proposals.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the use of digital reporting and compliance systems.
  • A flexible approach with willingness to travel nationally and occasionally stay overnight when required.
