Job summary
Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) provides integrated, coordinated support for children, young people and families across Devon. Participation and co-production are central to how we develop and improve our services, ensuring that the voices and experiences of children, young people, parents and carers meaningfully influence our work.
We are excited to be recruiting a Band 6 Engagement and Participation Worker to join our small, friendly and dynamic Participation Team on a part-time basis, working 22.5 hours per week.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, creative and compassionate individual who is passionate about ensuring that children, young people and families have a genuine voice in the services they use.
Working closely with children, young people, parents, carers, staff and partner organisations, you will develop and facilitate participation groups, engagement activities and co-production projects. You will use creative and accessible approaches to gather peoples experiences and ensure that their feedback contributes to meaningful service improvement.
You will support people with lived experience to participate confidently and safely, making reasonable adjustments where needed and ensuring that their wellbeing remains central to all involvement activities. You will also provide advice, support and training to staff, participation champions and volunteers across CFHD.
Capital Court, Exeter will be the base location however this role is county wide.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include: Support and oversee organisation-wide engagement activities and co-design projects with service users.
- To plan and support regular CFHD participation groups for children and young people and parents and carers.
- Contribute to the continued development and improvement of user participation culture within the organisation.
- Using community engagement skills, to recruit and support participation volunteers.
- Using story telling as a tool to increase participation and understanding of service user experience
- Supporting people with Lived Experience when participating in involvement activities
