
Job summary
18 Week Support are seeking motivated and compassionate Endoscopy Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to support our Endoscopy services across Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality patient care throughout the endoscopy pathway.
As an Endoscopy HCA, you will play a key role in supporting patients before, during, and after diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, while assisting the wider clinical team to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
Support patients throughout their endoscopy journey, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times
Assist Nurses and Endoscopists during endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, and ERCP
Prepare clinical areas, equipment, and stock in line with infection prevention and control standards
Undertake patient observations and provide general patient care within the unit
Ensure accurate documentation and maintain high standards of patient safety
Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver an efficient and patient-focused service
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised clinical environment
About You
Minimum of 6 months experience working as an Endoscopy HCA, within the last 12 months
Previous NHS experience is essential
Local candidates within 50 miles of Hampshire preferred
Strong understanding of endoscopy environments and patient pathways
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering safe, effective patient care
Flexible and adaptable approach to service requirements
