Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) are looking for a skilled Electrician to join our existing multi-disciplinary professional maintenance team in providing a safe environment for all service users, staff and visitors across our Suffolk & Norfolk sites being based in Lowestoft

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate would be flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and confident in being part of a team that provides a comprehensive maintenance service in a unique varied environment.

Duties & Responsibilities Associated with this role include but are not limited to:

  • Providing a comprehensive service to include all aspects of planned, routine and reactive maintenance
  • The repair and maintenance a wide range of electrical services and equipment on site
  • Fault finding and diagnosis
  • Routine inspections to ensure our estate is safe and fully compliant
  • Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health & Safety and other relevant legislation
  • You will be required to participate as a member of the On-Call Team providing an emergency out of hours service on a rotational basis

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge and experience of standard and specialist aspects of electrical services
  • Understanding and knowledge of the inter-relationship between the building trades and electrical & mechanical services
  • Understanding of Health & Safety Regulations within the Workplace

Desirable

  • The Electrical Safety Code for Low Voltage Systems - HTM 2020
  • Firecode HTM 82 Alarm & Detection Systems BS5839 Part 1

Experience

Essential

  • Two years relevant experience having demonstrated high technical verstility and flexability

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a mental health & secure services environment

Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised & registered EITB minimum 3 year apprenticeship as in Electrical Engineering
  • City & Guilds 236 Parts A & B OR City & Guilds 2330 Electro Technical Technology inc. AM1 & AM2 or equivalent OR NVQ Level 3 in electrical engineering
  • City & Guilds BS7671 - 18th Edition of the I.E.E. Regulations
  • Full UK driving licence for ability to drive Trust vehicles

Desirable

  • BTEC ONC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Portable Appliance Test Certificate
  • C&G or equivalent – Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems
