Our large department (in excess of 100 staff covering a population of approx 540,000) provides a wide range of services for Grampian Region and beyond, and includes a comprehensive range of bacteriology and virology diagnostic techniques.

Applications are invited for the above posts which are full-time and permanent. Duties include sample reception and general laboratory work in the Microbiology laboratory providing essential laboratory support to the Biomedical Scientific staff. The successful applicants should have a scientific qualification equivalent to NVQ level 2 or equivalent experience. They will be motivated, enthusiastic and keen to learn. They will have good organisational and practical abilities, and enjoy team work.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
