An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Domestic Supervisor to join our Facilities Team at Monkwearmouth hospital.

This post will be offered at 37.5 hours per week and working Monday to Sunday 7.5hrs per day on a 3 week rota alongside current supervisors. Job share also available.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for day-to-day supervision of a team of Soft FM staff

Provide advice and support to all wards and departments on an identified site. Dealing with ward and departmental managers to ensure an affective Soft FM service is provided.

Support Assistant and Site Manager with team briefs.

Ensure that effective, efficient lines of communication and good relationships are maintained within the department and with all other service users.

Provide and receive information to manage own job and communicate with on all aspects of hygiene and cleanliness.

Liaise with other Supervisors within the Company.

As a supervisor you may be expected to supervise other areas of facilities

Pay: Band B (£15.13 per hour)

We pay 25% enhancement, time and a quarter, on hours worked during a Saturday and Sunday.

Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working with a wide range of staff and service users

Desirable

  • Experience supervising staff in a cleaning, facilities or similar environment

Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH, manual handling and risk assessments
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and hygiene standards
  • Ability to lead and support a team effectively
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to organise workloads and prioritise tasks
  • Basic IT skills for records and communication

Desirable

  • Awareness of NHS policies and procedures

Education and Qualifications

Desirable

  • Food Hygiene certificate
  • Supervisory qualification
  • Health and Safety qualification
