Purpose for Fixed Term: Short term funding

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in the Hepatology Team as a Band 4 Digital Support Worker . You will be part of the multi disciplinary team and work alongside another Digital Support Worker to support Hepatology patients and their care .

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for using My Medical Records to monitor and book surveillance for Hepatology patients. Please refer to the job description and P/S for further details

Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

Essential

  • NVQ or apprenticeship Level 3 in Health
  • Numeracy skills and Literacy skills at level 2 (or equivalent).
  • Proficient in use of Hospital systems
  • Proven experience in a caring role.
  • Understanding of acute hospital environment and the role of SHCA
  • Previous experience of working with the general public.
  • Ability to communicate with wide range of people.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise workload
  • Ability to adjust to pressures of job.
  • Willingness to undertake further training
  • Strong interest in digital/IT
  • Experience of dealing with non-routine and complex problems, able to progress chase
  • Interest in new ways of working and supporting clinical teams during periods of change
  • Be able to take instruction / directions.
  • Aware of personal limitations.
  • Flexibility and adaptable to shift/work patterns.

Desirable

  • Experienced and competent in additional clinical skills, as per job description
  • Previous HCA experience.
  • Experience working with diverse audiences (e.g. volunteers, patients and/or community groups).
