We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic dietitian open to innovation, with excellent communication and team working skills to join our team of dietitians who work across Hertfordshire. The post is situated within Herts Valleys as part of the Integrated Nutrition and Dietetics
Service and is split between the dietetic care of Intermediate Care beds, clinics, care homes, and home enteral feeding in care homes depending on the needs of the service.
The post holder will work in collaboration with a variety of professionals, community staff and care agencies. This band 5 post will be based Sandridge Gate Business Centre in St. Albans.
As a member of this friendly and dedicated team, you will gain varied experience across inpatient and outpatient settings, develop strong links with health and social care professionals and will act as a valuable resource for both patients and professionals in this role. The Nutrition and Dietetic Service supports regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development. Training of student dietitians from University of Hertfordshire is also a key element of this role and you will be supported in your position as a student educator.
In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum and a maximum payment per annum, pro rata where applicable.

Main duties of the job
This post joins a larger team of dietitians working across Hertfordshire within a number of specialties including paediatrics, neurology, home enteral feeding and diabetes. We work in collaboration with a number of other Trusts and stakeholders providing aspects of dietetic care to patients within Hertfordshire. As part of our service we work in conjunction with our partners HILS and Age UK Hertfordshire with a focus on care home education and tackling the social causes of malnutrition. The service is supported by a team of administrators as well as dietetic assistants and there are excellent IT facilities to enable mobile working.
You must hold a full valid driving license and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
We are looking for a band 5 to work under supervision to provide a dietetic service to adults in community bed base units, residential, nursing homes and clinics in the community in the West of the county using evidence-based practice and conforming to best practice. You will be liaising with clinical and non-clinical professionals, patients, family/carers, educational organisations, statutory and voluntary organisations in Hertfordshire regarding.
You will provide education and training to dietitians, dietetic students, other healthcare professionals (HCPs) and nursing and residential homes
Word versions of documents are available if needed to allow for any adaptations to be made i.e. font, colour, background, convert to Read Aloud
