The Role
Exciting opportunity to join a large multi-disciplinary neurodevelopmental service. You will be supported to develop your clinical practice, skills and understanding of children and young people with a neurodevelopmental profile and provide interventions under the supervision of senior clinicians.
In this key role, you will:
- Act as an independent practitioner assessing, managing, planning, delivering and evaluating the most appropriate treatment programmes for patients, using appropriate nutritional assessment techniques and equipment, working within established protocols. The post holder decides when it is necessary to refer to his/her manager.
- Receive complex and sensitive information and present this in an understandable form to patients and carers which can include giving unwelcome and difficult to accept information.
- Advise and recommend the use of prescribable preparations and nutritional products for the treatment of patients as appropriate. Ensure supplies of products reach his/her patients through instruction to diet chefs verbally and through maintenance of the diet therapy ordering system. Also, be responsible for reporting any stock discrepancies to the dietetic services manager e.g. out of date stock, reduction in stock items or lack of stock items.
- Keep accurate and concise records of clinical interventions, advice given and outcome decisions taken as per professional code of conduct and departmental guidelines.
What You'll Bring:
- Registered Dietitian with valid HCPC Registration
- The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
- Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
