This is a Band 5/6 developmental post, and we welcome applications from both experienced practitioners and aspiring practitioners looking to further develop their urgent care skills.
At Band 6 level, applicants should be able to work autonomously in an advanced practice role, managing both minor injuries and minor illness presentations, including paediatric patients.
We are also keen to hear from Aspiring Practitioners with a strong urgent care background who are currently undertaking, or nearing completion of, an accredited minor injuries and illness qualification and are ready to develop towards advanced practice.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality urgent care, possess excellent clinical and communication skills, and are committed to providing outstanding patient-centred care. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, and be keen to contribute to the ongoing development of our evolving MIU service.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will independently assess, diagnose, treat, and safely manage patients presenting to the Minor Injury Unit, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care in accordance with local and national clinical guidelines.
They will be responsible for assessing individual patient needs, planning and implementing appropriate treatment and management plans, and evaluating the effectiveness of clinical interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
The successful candidate will be professionally accountable for their clinical practice and will take responsibility for the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred care within the Unit. They will work collaboratively with colleagues and partner services to ensure patients receive timely, responsive, and compassionate care, while contributing to the continuous development and improvement of the service.
