Job overview

Due to an expansion of our Community Dermatology Service, we are looking to recruit an experienced part time Healthcare Assistant to support the team.  The successful candidate will have previous experience and will be dedicated to delivering excellent patient care.  In addition the post holder will need to be flexible and adaptable in order to work across a variety of clinics throughout Dorset.

This role will involve assisting and supporting both Outpatient and Surgical clinics, recording information on the clinical record keeping system (SystmOne) with accuracy and competency. Successful applicant must have experience and skill using Microsoft office suite due to the role having an admin element to it when clinics are not running.

There will be an opportunity to take on additional hours on an ad-hoc basis, so flexibility regarding working days is desirable.

This role will be based across 2 sites, Pelhams Community Clinic in Kinson and Poole Healthcare Centre in the Dolphin Centre.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.

Main duties of the job

Ensure necessary instruments are available and set up in preparation for minor surgery clinics.

Undertake, record and follow guidelines for the tasks for which you have received appropriate training.

Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions.

Assist GPwSIs whilst patients are undergoing minor procedures.

Recording accurate patient information on the clinical record system.

IPC audits completion on a monthly basis.

Liaise with Tele derm co-ordinator with regard to admin work and recording of information on SystmOne.

This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only.  Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.
