Consultant Dermatologist with a specialist interest in Medical Dermatology
University Hospital Bristol NHS foundation Trust wishes to appoint a Consultant Dermatologist in the Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI). The post will involve working alongside our existing highly motivated team of Dermatologists and have a specialist interest in medical dermatology, and who deliver care to the population of Bristol and the surrounding area.
The post holder will be based at the Bristol Dermatology Centre in the BRI. The Department is looking to recruit a consultant whose schedule will include set days working from the dermatology centre to support the clinical workforce, resident doctors and large specialist nurse teams. Main duties of the job
Our current team of dermatologists includes Consultants, Associate Specialist, supported by speciality resident doctors and clinical fellows and GP trainee. The Bristol Dermatology Department is a large teaching hospital providing a full range of dermatology services for the local population as well as a regional service in paediatric, phototherapy, contact dermatitis, skin lymphoma and nail disease. As part of an undergraduate and postgraduate teaching trust, we are one of the regional training centres for dermatology.
The Bristol Dermatology Centre is a self-contained facility including a phototherapy suite, contact dermatitis suite, treatment area, skin surgery day case theatres, administration and consultant offices. The Dermatology Department provides a full range of services to the local population of Bristol and adjacent areas.

Qualifications & Training
Essential
- Fully registered with GMC
- Certification of completion of specialist training (CCT) (or equivalent
- OR Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) at the point of interview
- Candidates can be within 6 months of gaining CCT at the date of interview. Please note this does not apply to CESR applications
- Must be on the GMC’s Specialist Register for Dermatology to start Consultant appointment
