Essential
- Significant post qualification hospital experience
- Significant supervisory experience
- Significant Stores / purchasing experience
- Significant experience of training and competency assessment
- Excellent communication and inter personal skills, including negotiating and persuasive skills
Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ 3 in Pharmaceutical science or equivalent qualification accepted by General Pharmaceutical Council for registration purposes
- QCF Assessor award
- Supervisory qualification
Desirable
- Procurement qualification

- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- In house Recruitment and Selection training
- In house Appraisal training
Knowledge Requirements
Essential
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations
- IT skills
- Specialist expert knowledge of pharmaceutical technical practice and experience to an equivalent degree level
- Knowledge of Wholesaler dealer’s Licence and Good distribution practice
- Knowledge of pharmacy ordering systems
- Knowledge of pharmacy distribution systems

- In-patient dispensary procedures
