The role:
We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Dental Receptionist within the Public Dental Service, Royal Alexandra Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high quality patient care within a dynamic and supportive environment.
To provide reception and secretarial support to the Public Dental Service, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic.
Responsibilities include maintaining appointment diaries using the clinic management system, producing correspondence such as referral letters, managing patient enquiries, processing payments, and reconciling petty cash in line with procedures.
The post holder will deliver a professional and confidential service, supporting both patients and clinical staff.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- Location based in Royal Alexandra Hospital
- Permanent Contract
- Full-time Contract (36 hours per week)
- Shift pattern for this post are Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 16:30
Key responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide administration support across a range of PDS services, including but not limited to:
- PDS Primary and Secondary Care services
- Domiciliary Care
- Undergraduate outreach clinics
- Inhalation sedation clinics
The successful candidate will work with a wide range of patient groups, including:
- Paediatric patients
- Special care patients
- Priority and vulnerable groups (P&V) patients
- Unscheduled care patients
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Essential:
- Competence/experience with MS packages and other IT systems
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Flexibility to work across various sites throughout the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde area as service needs require
Desirable:
- Working knowledge of R4 Clinical+, Trakcare(Electronic Patient Management System)
- Experience with electronic phone systems eg Netcall
