Are you a caring, motivated and enthusiastic Dental Nurse looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a registered Dental Nurse to join our Adult Dental Health team at Bristol Dental Hospital.

In this role, you will work closely with clinicians and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient-centred care across a range of dental specialities. You will support clinical procedures using a four-handed dentistry approach, help maintain a safe and efficient clinical environment, and ensure patients receive an excellent experience throughout their treatment journey.

Main duties of the job

Assist clinicians during a range of dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain clinical areas, instruments, equipment and materials for patient treatment. Provide high standards of patient care, support and reassurance before, during and after treatment. Maintain accurate patient records and complete clinical documentation as required. Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff. Undertake decontamination duties in line with local and national guidance. Support the delivery of specialist services and utilise post-registration qualifications where applicable. Monitor, maintain and report issues relating to equipment and stock levels. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of clinics and services. Contribute to the supervision and support of student dental nurses and new team members where required. Participate in mandatory training, service development and continuous quality improvement activities.

The post holder will carry out a full range of dental nursing duties and provide high quality dental care. Supporting a ‘four handed dentistry’ approach, you will anticipate the clinician’s needs and any potential complications which may arise. This will include assembly of equipment, mixing dental materials and holding instruments in position during procedures. Additionally, you will undertake specialist and complex tasks using your post qualification skills if held and training e.g., conscious sedation, special care dentistry, oral health education and dental radiography. You will support the quality, safety and transformation of patient experience within your designated dental service and will be able to work flexibly across other dental services.
