Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Neonatal Service as a Data Quality Manager on a 12-month fixed-term basis, providing maternity cover. The Neonatal Service relies on accurate, timely and high-quality data to support patient care, monitor performance, meet national reporting requirements and inform service improvement. As Data Quality Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that the information we collect is accurate, complete, consistent and fit for purpose. Working closely with clinical, administrative and management teams, you will be responsible for overseeing data quality processes, identifying discrepancies and trends, and supporting colleagues to improve the quality of information recorded across the service.

Leeds Children's Hospital is one of the largest and busiest specialist children's hospitals in the UK, providing a wide range of services for children and young people from across the region and beyond. It is part of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, one of the biggest NHS Trusts in the country. Based primarily at Leeds General Infirmary in Leeds, the hospital delivers highly specialised care alongside general paediatric services. It serves not only the local population but also acts as a regional and national referral centre for complex conditions. Leeds Children's Hospital offers over 30 different specialties, including: Paediatric Emergency Care, Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care, Children's Surgery, Oncology and Haematology , Cardiology and Cardiac, Neurology and Neurosurgery.

What you will bring to the role
The post holder will: Undertake daily data quality checks and validation of neonatal records, ensuring information is complete, accurate and consistent. Validate HRG levels and clinical data in line with BAPM/HRG guidance, identifying and correcting data that may affect coding or reporting. Maintain accurate NNAP, BadgerNet, PAS and PPM data, including following up missing information with clinical teams and other hospitals. Monitor and investigate data quality dashboards, escalating discrepancies to relevant clinicians and making amendments where required. Produce data reports and extracts from BadgerNet and other systems to support quality improvement, audits, FOIs and national reporting requirements. Maintain accurate records relating to patient demographics, outcomes, surveillance and mortality, ensuring information is appropriately reported to relevant organisations. Carry out Data Warehouse checks, identifying issues such as duplicate or orphaned episodes, mandatory data omissions and discrepancies. Provide BadgerNet system support, including creating users, password resets, data requests and troubleshooting system issues. Act as a key point of contact for IT and system-related issues, liaising with Digital/IT teams and supporting the provision and maintenance of IT equipment. Work closely with clinical, administrative and external teams to resolve data quality issues and ensure timely and accurate information is available for patient care, reporting and service improvement.
