Job summary
We are looking for a compassionate, curious, and detail-driven Data Quality Clinical Records Specialist to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in getting things right, enjoys solving complex data puzzles, and understands how accurate clinical information directly supports safe, high-quality patient care.
You'll play a key part in ensuring that the clinical information we hold is complete, reliable, and aligned with NHS standards. Your work will help colleagues across the Trust deliver the best possible care and you will be the person they turn to when something doesn't look quite right.
Main duties of the job
What you'll be doing
Investigating complex data issues- carrying out in-depth reviews across multiple clinical systems to identify discrepancies, missing information, or data quality concerns.
Validating patient demographics- ensuring NHS numbers and demographic details are accurate, including understanding which patients are eligible for NHS numbers within the UK and Crown Estates.
Supporting clinical and operational teams- working closely with colleagues in Pathology, Radiology, Mental Health, and wider clinical services to resolve issues and improve data flows.
Improving data quality processes- helping teams understand the importance of accurate records and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
Merging duplicated patient records and handling complex demographic issues
What we're looking for
Previous NHS experience is essential - you'll already understand NHS systems, terminology, and the importance of accurate clinical data.
A natural investigator- someone who enjoys digging into details, spotting patterns, and asking the right questions.
Strong communication skills- able to work with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical colleagues in a supportive, collaborative way.
Confidence using multiple clinical systems and the ability to navigate complex information.
A calm, methodical approach- especially when dealing with sensitive or time-critical data.
