The Data Quality and Validation Clerk will have specific tasks using the hospital and NHS IT systems, validating data and ensuring data quality, making amendments and adjustments where required.
We are looking for a professional, experienced administrator who is able to work well as part of a team, but also to work autonomously.
This is a fixed term post for 12 months. The post holder will work in conjunction with and in support of colleagues in the Access Department, the Apollo team and Information Department, to assist in the provision of specific data quality and administrative validation elements. This will include the use of patient data.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Validate patient records against the criteria provided and rectify any discrepancies.
2. Oversee and ensure tasks are completed on a daily basis, meeting internal deadlines.
3. Regularly update and provide the necessary templates and data in order to show current statuses of specific administrative validations/reviews for reporting.
4. Maintain and update internal procedural documentation used within the department. Ensure routine reviews are carried out.
5. Maintain competency to fully utilise the systems and software used within the role.
6. To keep patient information confidential at all times, abiding by the Trust’s Confidentiality and Data Protection Policies.
7. To escalate any unresolved issues to a supervisor.
8. To actively participate in any training/development programmes which are run specifically for Information Management staff.
9. Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative according to the controls in place.
