We’re looking for an enthusiastic Learning Disability Nurse to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Ellesmere Port and Chester. This role is  for a Band 5 nurse passionate about supporting young people with learning disabilities.

You will:

• Provide specialised support to children with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
• Deliver group training for parents, caregivers, and professionals.
• Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team for person-centered care.
• Receive tailored training to lead parent and professional sessions confidently.

Main duties of the job

Your Role at LD CAMHS

As a key team member, you will:

• Conduct Assessments: Evaluate behaviours of concern for young people (0–18), identify causes, and develop tailored intervention plans.
• Design Person-Centred Interventions: Create and implement plans that meet individual needs, improving quality of life.
• Apply Positive Behaviour Support (PBS): Use PBS principles to assist families effectively. Training will be provided if needed.
• Facilitate Training: Deliver practical sessions for parents, caregivers, and professionals, with full preparation and support.
• Collaborate with Experts: Work with Learning Disability Nurses, Clinical Support Workers, Psychologists, and a Psychiatrist to provide holistic care.
