Job overview

We have a full time, permanent post available for an experienced CT Radiographer to join our CT team at the Bristol Royal Infirmary on a permanent basis.  This is not a training post.

Working to set standards & protocols, functioning in accordance with best practice and in a manner that meets professional, departmental and legal standards and requirements

  • Able to perform a wide range of CT protocols.
  • Assist in more complex CT examinations under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Take part in the provision of a 24-hour CT service.
  • Organise the efficient control of workflow patterns within the department when acting as a senior of the day, if required.
  • Proven ability to perform as part of a team.
  • Able to organise own workload and that of junior staff.
  • We have a range of scanners across sites, including 3 Siemens 128 Slice, and 2 Canon Aquilion One volumetric scanners

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a 24/7 CT service to the Trust, by producing high quality images.
  • To teach student radiographers, radiographic assistants and all  radiographers.
  • To have expert knowledge with CRIS and PACS

Essential

  • Effective communication skills - Including in situations of conflict or distress
  • Able to accept responsibility for CT working under own initiative within the boundaries of the role
  • Ability to act as facilitator, mentor and supervisor to colleague

Desirable

  • Demonstrating good line management
  • Initiative

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Thorough and up to date knowledge of CT imaging and best practice
  • Understanding the theory and application of clinical governance
  • Understanding of HCPC Professional standards and requirements of it for practice and behaviour and its application to the management of staff and self

Desirable

  • Significant relevant clinical experience within the field of CT

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Bsc Hons in Diagnostic imaging
  • Certificate in IV Cannulation

Desirable

  • PG Cert in CT or be prepared to study towards it
