This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded team.  You will be part of a team of 32 Consultants that provide care within the Directorate of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The unit Is successfully accredited with BSUG and was rated as Good by the CQC in March 2025.

The post-holder will be required to provide the full range of Urogynaecology skills working in collaboration with existing multi-disciplinary team.   You will provide specialist Urogynaecology services in line with RCOG BSUG & NICE recommendations.  You will be working alongside two Urogynae Consultants, 4 Advance Nurse Practitioners & Support Staff, as well as colleagues in Urology and Colorectal Surgery.  You will participate in the Trust Urogynaecology MDT & regional MDT.  The post holder will participate in the obstetric Caesarean section list.

You will contribute towards training our Residential doctors in a  urogynaecology SITM which is strongly encouraged. The post holder must have  completed Urogynaecology Subspecialty as per RCOG curriculum

This post is based primarily at University Hospital of North Midlands.  Clinical Duties will be across the Royal Stoke and County Hospital Sites with a total of  9.813PA’s.  You will participate in a 1:12 Gynaecology weekday and weekend on-call.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will join a team of 32 Consultant colleagues delivering comprehensive women’s health services across the Trust. The Urogynaecology Unit is accredited by the British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG) & the service was rated “Good” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in March 2025. The post holder will provide the full range of specialist uro-gynaecology services, working collaboratively within an established multi-disciplinary team. Care will be delivered in accordance with current guidance & best practice recommendations from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, British Society of Urogynaecology & the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). The successful candidate will work alongside two Consultant Uro-gynaecologists, four Advanced Nurse Practitioners, and dedicated support staff. Close collaboration with colleagues in Urology and Colorectal Surgery is an essential component of the role. The post holder will participate in both the Monthly Trust Urogynaecology MDT and  once in 3  monthly regional MDT. Clinical duties will include outpatient clinics, specialist investigations and surgical management of uro-gynaecological conditions. The post holder will also undertake a regular day-case list for outpatient uro-gynaecology procedures once per month, supporting the delivery of minimally invasive treatments within the outpatient setting. The role will also include participation in the obstetric Caesarean section list.
