As a Consultant Radiologist, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-standard radiology services across our three acute sites—Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Peterborough City Hospital and Stamford & Rutland Hospitals—while extending your expertise to our community hospitals.
Who We’re Looking For
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice (or eligibility within 6 months).
- UK-trained applicants: Must have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within 6 months of award at the date of interview.
- Non-UK-trained applicants: Must demonstrate CCT equivalence.
- Subspecialist interest in Gynaecology and Colorectal is essential.
- Strong leadership qualities with a focus on teamwork, patient care, and innovation.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deliver subspecialty radiology services in alignment with departmental needs, driving service improvement.
- Provide leadership and clinical expertise across general radiology, working closely with your colleagues in a collaborative environment.
- Actively contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain your subspecialty interest, enhancing our department’s offering to meet patient and service requirements.
- Lead and contribute to audit projects and protocol development, ensuring best practices are followed.

- Full registration with the General Medical Council and licence to Practice
- Able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trusts Values and Behaviours
Experience
Essential
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT Radiology with sub-speciality accreditation / experience
- Experience of supervising / teaching undergraduates, junior doctors and other staff; ability to teach clinical skills.
- Experience of practice to date
- Clinical governance - track record of engaging in clinical governance; reporting & learning from errors.
Desirable
- Publications in recognised Radiology journals.
- Research projects relating to speciality
- Evidence of ability to pursue independent audit and research.

- Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills
- Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical problems; ability to critically appraise published evidence
Education and Qualifictions
Essential
- FRCR or equivalent qualification
- CCT in Radiology or equivalent (or within 6 months of receipt of CCT at the time of interview) or on the Specialist Register
