We are delighted to offer an excellent opportunity for a full‑time Consultant Psychiatrist to join Humber’s Integrated Care Team for Older People (HICTOP). This is a rewarding and influential role based within the City of Hull, with clinical responsibility for the East Hull Community Mental Health Team.
This post carries no inpatient responsibility, though the successful candidate will benefit from access to three well‑established inpatient facilities serving Hull and the East Riding.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a key member of our service, you will:
- Provide medical leadership within a highly skilled, supportive multi‑disciplinary team.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and innovation of the team’s clinical approach.
- Participate in the specialist Consultant on‑call rota for Old Age Psychiatry and Learning Disability.

Main duties of the job
About You
We’re looking for someone who is committed, forward‑thinking, and dedicated to high‑quality patient care. You will need:
- Full GMC registration.
- MRCPsych UK or an equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Old Age Psychiatry, or to be within 6 months of CCT in Old Age Psychiatry.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As a consultant working for the HICTOP team, you will have responsibility for the provision of safe and effective care and treatment. You will share the vision of integrated and multi-disciplinary working and actively engage in the development of the service through research and support.
The post holder would be expected to be approved as a Responsible Clinician or be willing to undertake training to obtain Section 12(2) MHA and will be expected to renew this approval according to agreed procedures.
The ability to commute within the Trusts geographical area with access to the appropriate means of transport is essential.

ELIGIBILITY

- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months. Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment
Desirable
- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
Qualifications
Essential
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Desirable
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.

- Excellent knowledge in specialty.
