The General Adult inpatient wards covering Fife are currently located in three sites.• Lomond ward - Stratheden Hospital in Cupar (Glenrothes and North East Fife)• Ravenscraig ward - Whytemans Brae Hospital in Kirkcaldy (Central Fife)• Ward 2 - Queen Margaret Hospital in Durnfermline (West Fife)Each of these sites cater to local population but its likely that patients from other areas may be admitted should the local ward have no capacity to admit them. This post is for Lomond Ward. This is a mixed ward with a bed capacity of 22.All the wards have a multidisciplinary team including Nursing staff, Occupational Therapists and the postholder will be expected to work alongside these other professionals to deliver a holistic treatment plan for each patient.

There is an emphasis on service development across the acute wards with a focus on providing a therapeutic environment including patient safety, meaningful activity and carer involvement. There are several ongoing Quality Improvement Projects related to this and the postholder would be expected to become actively involved in the projects associated with their wards.

The post holder will be working alongside a full time Specialty grade doctor and 4 resident doctors. Full secretarial support will be made available, as will office space.Applicants who are fully registered medical practitioners with MRCPsych or equivalent, and an appropriate CCT (or be eligible for inclusion within 6 months of the interview date) are invited to make enquiries.
