We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Consultant Orthodontist to join our dynamic Oral Surgery & Orthodontics team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn. Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead the delivery of specialist orthodontic care for children and adults, managing a wide range of complex cases including multidisciplinary and orthognathic treatments. They will provide high‑quality clinical care, contribute to the development of the orthodontic service, and work closely with colleagues in Oral Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, Paediatrics, and regional partners. You will play an active role in clinical governance, audit, and service improvement, while supporting the training and supervision of junior dental staff.

As Consultant Orthodontist, your primary responsibility will be to maintain the highest clinical standards in the management of orthodontic patients, including complex and interdisciplinary cases. You will provide specialist diagnosis, prevention and treatment of malocclusion, ensuring high‑quality care across all aspects of the service.

Key responsibilities include:

Clinical Care

• Deliver safe, effective orthodontic treatment for children and adults, including complex secondary‑care cases.
• Participate in combined orthodontic–orthognathic pathways in collaboration with NNUH.

Governance and Quality

• Contribute to clinical governance, audit and continuous improvement within the service.

Teaching and Supervision

• Support and supervise junior dental staff, including DCTs, and contribute to teaching activities.
• Maintain continuing professional development and engagement with CME.

Service and Leadership

• Help ensure the smooth running and development of the orthodontic service, including participation in departmental meetings and annual job planning.

Professional Standards

• Comply with Trust policies relating to safeguarding, health and safety, infection control, data protection and equality.

This role includes a balance of Direct Clinical Care and Supporting Professional Activities, supporting both high‑quality patient care and ongoing service development.
