A Consultant post has become available in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LTHTR).
This is a a full-time Gynaecologist, participating in on call and hot week rotas. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team. A passion for Gynaecological care is essential.
Main duties of the job
This is a full time Gynaecologist Post - Day time gynaecology commitments would include gynaecology clinics, including PMB, hysteroscopy and two week wait referrals, gynaecology hot week and operating theatre sessions.
The successful candidate will be job planned to support governance and teaching roles to support the running and development of the department.

Qualifications
Essential
- Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
- MBBS or equivalent
- Must be entered on the Specialist Register (or entry within 6 months)
- ATSM in Gynaecological surgery (e.g. Benign Abdominal Surgery)
Desirable
- Teaching Qualification e.g., PG Cert
- Medical leadership
- Other ATSMs in gynaecology
Experience and Skills
Essential
- Experience of working in NHS
- Ability to deal with all common obstetric and gynaecological emergency presentations
- Teaching Experience (undergraduate and postgraduate)
Desirable
- Formal undergraduate education role e.g. OSCE examiner
- Intermediate Gynaecological Scan
- Experience of supporting placenta accreta spectrum caesarean hysterectomy
Leadership and Management
Essential
- Evidence of Clinical Leadership
- Evidence of commitment to audit and quality improvement projects
- Attendance on management or leadership course
- Evidence of involvement in obstetric or gynaecology governance
Desirable
- Trained in quality improvement methodology.
- Qualification in management or leadership
