We are looking for an enthusiastic Consultant Neurologist to join our existing team of Consultants and Specialist Nurses to support the Neurology service provided across the West of Berkshire.
For newly qualified applicants, a second on-call senior neurologist will be rostered until the new starter is fully established in the consultant role.
Please kindly note the Simulation date is the 8th September 2026 and the Interview date is the 21st September 2026.
Main duties of the job
This post represents an addition to enhance the Neurology Services across the West of Berkshire and in particular help meet the rising demand for neurology clinic appointments. This post is full-time (10PA).
Applicants who are unable to work full-time for personal reasons are invited to apply, as are those wishing to job share. Applicants are required to hold a CCT in Neurology or be within six months of accreditation by the interview date.

Education and Qualifications
Essential
- Full registration with the GMC
- Membership of the Royal College of Neurology of the United Kingdom or equivalent
- Entry on GMC Specialist Register in Neurology, (or CCT expected within 6 months from date of interview
Desirable
- Higher degree e.g. PhD/ MD submitted/awarded
Research, Teaching Skill & Experience
Essential
- Evidence or providing good teaching and supervision to trainees
Desirable
- Track record of publications in peer reviewed journals
- Educational qualification
- Experience of clinical trials work in multiple sclerosis
Clinical Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Essential
- Fully trained in Neurology
- Previous responsibility for clinical governance and GMC Good Medical Practice
- All aspects of general Neurology and patient care
- Experience of managing MS patients receiving disease-modifying therapies
