We are looking to appoint 3 WTE Consultant posts in Medical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases based at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (split site working – 2 posts) and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and Barnsley NHS Foundation Trust (split site working - 1 post).
There may be potential opportunity to work at another of the sites within SYBP subject to the needs of the service and the interests of the applicant
Pathology Services (including Medical microbiology) are provided by South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology Services (SYBP) and hosted by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This post will expand the service at Rotherham and Barnsley, and the post holders will be part of the wider microbiology and virology team based in Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster and Bassetlaw.
Posts 1 & 2 – Will be based at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust with split site working.
Post 3 – Will be based at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Barnsley NHS Foundation Trust with split site working.

Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post

Main duties of the job
The appointees will, together with other Consultant colleagues, be responsible for the provision of providing clinical microbiology, infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship advice for The Rotherham Hospital Foundation Trust, Barnsley Foundation Trust and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.
The successful candidate will work according to the terms and conditions of the national consultant contract.
