NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a permanent post working 40 hours per week.

The shift pattern for this post has yet to be confirmed.

We are seeking to appoint, on a permanent basis, a Consultant in Geriatric Medicine who wishes to develop an expertise in front door frailty and the delivery of hospital at home. This post is based within the specialist Older People and Stroke Unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley.

We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic consultant to join a well-established and friendly Older People and Stroke Service. This post offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the expansion and development of Hospital at Home services within Renfrewshire and the further development of acute frailty pathways. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering high‑quality Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) across acute, virtual and community settings, supporting alternatives to hospital admission and facilitating early supported discharge

As a Hospital at Home Consultant, you will be responsible for overseeing the provision of acute medical care to patients in their own homes. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in their home setting. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to various patient needs.

Within this role you will be one of a team of Consultants supported by a dedicated group of specialist nursing staff, committed to improving patient pathways and deliver high standards of patient care. Your application and interview will demonstrate the skill set needed to join us in delivering, developing and teaching expert care within this exciting and challenging specialty.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience in all aspects of geriatric medicine
