Main duties of the job
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide clinical leadership across community and inpatient services, helping to shape the future of adult mental health care in Pembrokeshire. Working closely with a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will ensure services are compassionate, evidence‑based, and responsive to the needs of our local population.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering high‑quality clinical care in Adult General Psychiatry
- Leading and supporting the multidisciplinary team
- Contributing to teaching, training, and research activities
- Applying expertise in assessment, treatment, and community management
- Supporting the development of medical students, junior doctors, and wider staff
- Participating in CPD, audit, and service improvement initiatives

- Full registration and a License to Practice with the General Medical Council.
- On the GMC Specialist Register (including via Portfolio Pathway (CESR)/European Community Rights) or will have CCT due within six months of interview date.
- Valid Certified Advanced Life Support.
- Where a sub-specialty interest is required sub-specialty training should be to a level appropriate for UK consultant sub-specialist practice - fellowship or equivalent level experience.
- Section 12 Approval.
- AC Approved Clinician Status.
