Are you an enthusiastic Acute Physician looking to make a real difference in a forward-thinking and supportive department?
We are seeking a Consultant in Acute Medicine to join our expanding team, delivering high-quality acute medical care across Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley & South Ribble Hospital.
Working within our established Acute Medicine service, you will provide consultant-led care across our Acute Medical Units (AMU), Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and Acute Assessment Unit (AAU), leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver timely, compassionate and innovative patient care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Provide expert care for patients presenting with acute medical conditions.
- Lead and develop ambulatory emergency care pathways to reduce unnecessary admissions.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across both hospital sites.
- Teach, supervise and inspire medical students and postgraduate doctors in training.
- Lead quality improvement projects and help shape the future of Acute Medicine.
- Build strong relationships with primary care and community services to improve patient pathways.

- Full GMC Registration
- MBBS or equivalent
- MRCP
- CCT in Acute Medicine - Must be entered on the Specialist Register (or entry within 6 months)

- Specialty certificate examination in Acute Medicine (MRCP Acute Medicine)

- Commitment to working as part of a multi-professional clinical team.
