Applications are invited for the post for a Full time Consultant gynaecological oncologist surgeon to join our gynae oncological team. To provide a robust and resilient service for women with gynaecological cancers, for patients presenting with ovarian, cervical, endometrial, vaginal and vulva tumours. If you are skilled, compassionate surgeon specialising in gynae oncology procedures we invite you join our dynamic team here at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
We are looking for a skilled experienced surgeon with a passion for radical ovarian cancer surgery.
The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of Surgeons, Oncologists, Histopathologists, Radiologists, specialised nurses, as part of the gynae oncology team at MTW. The appointee would work closely with the existing team to provide and further develop Radical Ovarian Cancer Surgery. The appointee will work closely with consultant colleagues, advanced nurse practitioners and cancer nurse specialists to deliver high quality outpatient services. There is a separate monthly colposcopy MDT and weekly gynae oncology MDT. The role will include weekly gynae oncology clinic and colposcopy clinic.
You will be part of the Surgical Specialties and Endoscopy Directorate which comprises of Breast, Urology, Gynae oncology, Vascular services, Upper GI, Lower GI and Endoscopy.

Main duties of the job
All clinical services provided by the Trust are managed on a cross-site basis. Clinics and surgery are predominantly undertaken at Maidstone Hospital.
This is a tertiary centre post that provides comprehensive management of Gynaecological cancers. The successful candidate must have completed gynae oncology sub speciality training to be appointed.
The 4 substantive Consultants offer a full repertoire of Gynae oncological procedures including:
- Robotic surgery
- Minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery.
- Open surgery.
- Risk reducing surgery
- Reconstructive surgery
- Sentinel node
- Radical Ovarian Cancer Resections
