Job overview
We are looking for an ambitious, fellowship-trained otologist to join our friendly and forward-thinking ENT team at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, primarily based at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester. This is a genuinely exciting time to join us: the department is expanding, our otology service is growing, and you will have real scope to influence how that growth happens — from clinical pathways to service strategy — rather than simply stepping into a fixed rota.
You will work within a 1 in 12 network on call across Winchester, Southampton and Salisbury, giving you the rare combination of a stable, predictable district general base alongside the camaraderie, peer support and case mix of a wider tertiary-linked network. For a sub-specialist otologist, that network is where this role gets interesting — close working relationships with colleagues across three sites, shared learning, and a genuinely collegiate approach to complex cases.
This is a full time general ENT consultant post with a special interest in Otology, primarily based at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital (Winchester), with cross-site work at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital as the service requires.
You will take an active role in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training, contribute to the management and development of the clinical service, and work alongside consultant colleagues to maintain a high standard of patient care across the Trust.
