An excellent opportunity has arisen for a fixed-term replacement post in Community Paediatrics at Amber Valley.
The post is available as a full time position, but those wishing to work less than full time are welcome to discuss. The post is subject to the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s terms and conditions and the salary reflects national contract provisions.
The appointee will report to the Medical Director of the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the job plan will be agreed with the Clinical Director for Community Paediatrics in the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be based predominantly in the Amber Valley area of South Derbyshire. As part of the community paediatric team, they will provide community child health services in clinics (and other venues when appropriate contributing to the joint paediatrician assessments with the speech and language therapist). This work will include the following:
- Seeing children and young people referred for assessment of child development, neurodevelopmental conditions and physical disability
- Providing paediatric links with school nurses to local schools, nurseries and social services’ children’s establishments within the locality.
- Liaising with other disciplines and agencies on individual case management and the preparation of reports.
- Participating in the MDT triage of neurodevelopmental referrals.

Qualifications
Essential
- Fully registered with the General Medical Council, UK
- Included on specialist register or within 6 months
- MRCPCH (or equivalent)
- Postgraduate training in community paediatrics
- Appropriate level management training and experience
- Evidence of recent safeguarding training Level 3 or above
Desirable
- Training in formal assessments for ASD/ADHD
- Other postgraduate qualification/training in paediatrics and child health
Special demands of post

- Must be able to participate in the on-call rota.
- Must be able to be mobile around the district
