Job overview

The post is based within the cardiology department of Imperial College Healthcare Trust. The department delivers state of the art clinical cardiology services and is a pioneer in many aspects of echo imaging including intra-procedural echo for TEER, PFO and LAAO closures. The post holder will be expected to input to our well respected and internationally recognised IVCC conference which is held annually. We are part of the impressive academic health science hospitals with strong links to Imperial College/ NHLI and our clinicians have a world class reputation in academic cardiology. This post will allow career development in both clinical and academic cardiology.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will undertake a range of patient-facing activities, including specialist echocardiography, general cardiology clinics and specialist valve clinics. They will contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality imaging and valve services across the Trust.

The role includes allocated time for service development, with opportunities to lead or support improvements in structural imaging, valve disease pathways and the infective endocarditis service. The post holder will also contribute to the cardiology on-call rota for ward cover.
