Job overview
We are advertising an exciting opportunity for a Cardiac surgeon here at Lancashire Cardiac Centre; working across the geographical areas covered by the Regional Cardiac Centre. The appointee will join 10 Consultant Cardiac, Thoracic and Cardiothoracic colleagues and will participate in a 1:6 cardiac on call rota at Victoria Hospital. A specific aortic on-call rota 1:4 is in place and the successful candidate will work towards joining this rota.
The successful candidate will join a multi-professional team based at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre, Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
This post would support and enhance the departments plans to introduce a Surgeon of the Day to improve availability, lines of communication and cross speciality dialogue working closely with Cardiology and other specialists such as Interventional Radiologists. The department is currently working hard to meet demands and national targets for in house revascularisation. Additionally the post holder will contribute to both in house urgent cases and waiting list improvements.
