Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Breast Radiographer within our Medical Imaging department based at University Hospital Crosshouse.
Hours:
36 hours per week, Monday - Friday
This post is offered on a permanent basis
From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
UK Driving Licence:
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What you will do:
As the successful candidate, you will be a central part of a specialist breast team, providing and facilitating expert care for patients with, or at risk of, breast disease. Working independently and collaboratively, you will assess and diagnose patients, manage your own caseload, and be supported in continuous professional development.
You will bring a high level of autonomy to the role, whilst still benefitting from the collaboration of a close-knit, multi-disciplinary team consisting of Consultant Surgeons, Consultant Radiologists and Advanced Practitioner Specialist Radiographers.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post:
The post holder will be an HCPC registered Radiographer, ideally holding a Post Graduate Masters level qualification that includes the following:
You should have a minimum of 3 years of Advanced Practice in multiple areas of breast imaging.
The successful candidate will be well organised, with a high level of attention to detail, the ability to make difficult decisions and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
