Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an existing Advanced Practice Mammographer to train for the role of Consultant Breast Radiographer, working between University Hospital Crosshouse and Ayrshire Central Hospital.

Hours:

30 hours per week, Monday – Friday, working days TBC

This post is offered on a permanent basis

UK Driving Licence:

Full UK driving licence is essential to this role.

What you will do:

As the successful candidate, you will be a central part of a specialist breast team, providing and facilitating expert care for patients with, or at risk of, breast disease. Working independently and collaboratively, you will assess and diagnose patients, manage your own caseload, and be supported in continuous professional development.

You will bring a high level of autonomy to the role, whilst still benefitting from the collaboration of a close-knit, multi-disciplinary team consisting of Consultant Surgeons, Consultant Radiologists and Advanced Practitioner Specialist Radiographers.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post:

The post holder will be an HCPC registered Radiographer, ideally holding a Post Graduate Masters level qualification that includes at least one of the following:

• Mammographic Film Interpretation
• Breast Ultrasound
• Interventional Breast Procedures

You should have a minimum of 3 years of Advanced Practice experience in breast imaging.

The successful candidate will be well organised, with a high level of attention to detail, the ability to make difficult decisions and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
