NHS GRAMPIAN
Consultant Anaesthetist
Full time, flexible or part-time appointment
Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin, Scotland.
NHS Grampian is delighted at the prospect of expanding the Anaesthetic Department at Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin, Scotland. This full-timepost will primarily be based at Dr Gray’s Hospital. Specialist interests will be encouraged and there may be an opportunity, for interested applicantsto work at other hospitals within Grampian or other Health Boards. Individualised job planning can be tailored to the requirements of both service andapplicants; this could include flexible/part-time/annualised work patterns.
Dr Gray’s Hospital is a District General Hospital situated in Elgin in the North-East of Scotland. Inverness lies 35 miles to the West with Aberdeen65 miles to the East.
The Scottish Government have committed to reestablish a consultant-led obstetric service in the hospital. This will include establishment of a newresident non-consultant rota tier and expansion of the existing consultant team to at least 12 Whole Time Equivalent in order to meet the RoyalCollege of Anaesthetists Obstetric Anaesthesia requirements.
Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post). For more informationvisit www.gmc-uk.org
Applicants should be in possession of FRCA.
Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview.
CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) or Portfolio Pathway route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive Consultant post once CESR or Portfolio Pathway specialist registration is awarded. Those with an International Recognised Specialist Qualification approved by GMC should have a confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
Applications from doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) if no substantive Consultant appointment is made. Whilst in locum employment, an application to obtain a CESR or Portfolio Pathway Specialist Registration can be made to the GMC.

Moray Council are offering temporary accommodation for key workers moving to Moray to support recruitment in the public sector, including NHS roles. This opportunity is designed to help individuals who are unable to secure housing locally while starting their new job.
Applicants must be filling a public sector role such as NHS healthcare professionals eg Consultants, Nurses, Physiotherapists where local skills shortages exist.
You must be moving to Moray from outside the area and must be willing to accept a Short Scottish Secure Tenancy (SSST), which is a temporary housing arrangement.
