The role:
An opportunity is available for a Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to support the Asylum and Refugee Health Team.
You will be involved in completing mental health assessments, education support to patients, including safety and stabilisation support, and care planning for the asylum and refugee population open to the service.
You will work within a Health & Social Care Partnership model. Work as an autonomous practitioner to promote, provide, and coordinate care in various locations. The Asylum and Refugee Health Team nursing service operates an open-access policy, delivering care to individuals and families in homeless and asylum accommodation.
All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

You will be responsible for managing your own caseload under direct supervision from a Senior Nurse or Team Leader.
As part of the Asylum Refugee Health Asylum Refugee Health Team, you will have responsibility for the assessment of patient care needs and the development and evaluation of programmes of care.
You will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals in line with agreed standards and clinical policies and without direct supervision while participating in regular caseload supervision will be a critical aspect of the role.
Supervising the practice of, and demonstrating procedures to, student nurses and unqualified staff will be an important aspect of the role as will be the mentoring of nurses undergoing basic nurse training.
