The Podiatry Service within The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a full time HCPC Registered Podiatrist, with sufficient postgraduate experience . You will join a friendly and forward looking team, committed to delivering the full range of podiatric interventions to the highest standards.
Based in the community, you will work in Health Centres, and patients’ homes, and must be able to commute to meet the needs of the role.
Our developing podiatry caseload focuses on those who are medically at risk or who have a high podiatric need, consequently our patients tend to be complex with a variety of needs.
Main duties of the job
To assess, diagnose, develop and implement individual podiatric care plans for patients with a variety of clinical needs, including acute and chronic neuropathies, chronic diseases, vascular problems, wound management, nail pathologies and musculo-skeletal (MSK) problems
The post holder will work within all areas of the department and will be expected to plan, and manage a caseload in each specialism.
To autonomously operate in the delivery of high quality foot care both as part of a team and as a lone worker in domiciliary settings.
Using motivation and empowerment skills to enter into partnerships of care and achieve goals with patients.

Experience
Essential
- Experience of diagnostic skills to manage and assess foot pathologies both in at risk foot and MSK.
- Awareness of current NHS trends and policies, including clinical governance, NICE guidelines and NSF’s
- Awareness of health and Safety
- Appreciation of good record keeping
- Experience of peer, student & Junior supervision
- Ability to supervise/mentor students and junior/less experienced members of the team
Knowledge and Training
Essential
- A minimum of two years rounded professional experience, including treatment of the 'at risk' foot
- Extensive Post graduate knowledge of Biomechanics and MSK Conditions and ability to first line assess, diagnose and treat/manage these conditions
- Knowledge of Metabolic, Vascular and Neurological conditions and ability to assess, diagnose and treat/manage these conditions.
- Evidence of treatment planning/patient management
- Evidence of ability to manage and treat patients with a level of knowledge and skills which are underpinned by evidence based practice, relevant knowledge and practical experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development commensurate post graduate experience.
- Ability to prescribe insoles and chair side orthotics
Qualifications & Education
Essential
- BSc (Hons) Podiatric Degree (or equivalent – eg. Diploma in Podiatric Medicine)
- Local Anesthesia Certificate
- HCPC registration
