An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Rehabilitation Assistant to work with the Integrated Community Rehab Service in South Manchester.  This is a brilliant opportunity to work in a rotational post working within the following services: Community Stroke, Community Neuro Rehab, Community Rehabilitation and Falls Service.

These services are committed to delivering rehabilitation for patients in their own homes and a variety of clinical settings so applicants must be able to travel across the locality to complete multiple patient visits in the day.  The successful candidate will be compassionate, forward thinking and a team player that wants to progress within the environment of community rehabilitation.

The services are committed to learning and development opportunities.

Although this is permanent role, the service would consider a 12 secondment to support someone gain community experience.  Please note that the successful candidate will require a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle to complete home visits.  We will require proof of this prior to an interview being offered.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Rehabilitation Assistant will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and have the knowledge and skills to work across therapies at a high level of competence, within agreed protocols, under the supervision of a qualified professional. They will also have responsibility for providing support and guidance to more junior assistants.

The rehabilitation assistant will work within a community based team assisting registered professionals, including occupational therapists and physiotherapists in the implementation, delivery and evaluation of rehabilitation programmes.

The rehabilitation assistant will take responsibility for their own workload within a broad framework laid out by a qualified therapist. The post holder will be responsible for delivering defined Therapy input without direct supervision, but will have immediate access to a qualified therapist for advice and direction as needed.

The post holder will use technical and creative skills in the provision of therapeutic activities for individual patients and will be responsible for evaluating and amending treatment programmes and interventions with guidance from the therapist.

This is a rotation post working across community therapy, falls and community stroke and neuro rehab teams.
